LATAM Airlines Brasil is the Brazilian company of LATAM Airlines Group. Formerly known as TAM, the company merged with LAN Airlines on 22 June 2012. On 5 May 2016 the name LATAM Airlines was selected as the combined name. LATAM Airlines is the largest airline in South America. The airline serves over 115 destinations in 23 countries with over 280 aircraft. Major hubs are located at Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport (GIG), Santiago-Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (SCL), and São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). LATAM Airline's fleet includes Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Included in this fleet are the newest aircraft models the Airbus A350-900, the Boeing 787-8, and the Boeing 787-9. The airline is a member of Oneworld, the global airline alliance.
